Pollution means the contamination of air, water and sound etc. Many unwise people are responsible for it. They do not know or follow the rules and regulations of keeping our environment free from pollution.

Pollution means the contamination of air, water and sound etc. Many unwise people are responsible for it. They do not know or follow the rules and regulations of keeping our environment free from pollution. Environment pollution can be classified in many ways. They are air pollution, water pollution and sound pollution. Air is an important element of our environment that is polluted by smoke of mills, factories, and motor vehicles. Besides, a huge amount of smoke is emitted for cooking food, burning bricks and refuse. Water is polluted by human waste, industrial waste, chemicals and poisonous things. Sound pollution is caused by vehicles horns and microphones. Thus, our environment is being polluted. There are many serious effects of environmental pollution. It causes unexpected death of people and animals. We suffer from various fatal diseases due to environmental pollution. Environmental pollution causes changes in the climate of the world. As a result, we have to face different kinds of natural disasters. So, proper steps should be taken to prevent it. We should be kind to animals and plants. Actions must be taken against indiscriminate use of chemicals. Awareness must be raised among the common people about the destructive effects of environmental pollution. The mass media can play a vital role in this regard.

Leisure/ Pastime

Leisure is the time when a man is free from routine work and can do whatever he like best. In a word, it is a temporary relief from the monotonous routine task of our daily life.

Leisure/ Pastime

Leisure is the time when a man is free from routine work and can do whatever he like best. In a word, it is a temporary relief from the monotonous routine task of our daily life. Village people spend their leisure by flying kites, fishing, playing swimming and gardening. City people spend their leisure by shopping, reading books, watching television, using computer, going park and zoo. The common sports are football, cricket, ha du du, chess etc. and the common pastimes are gossiping listening radio, watching television, reading books and newspapers etc. In late winter, the nature looks very beautiful and the sky remains very clear. Different kinds of flowers are bloomed everywhere. People enjoy it very much. In the late winter, many people travel from one place to another and enjoy the natural beauty. Besides, people enjoy then various kinds of games like badminton, volleyball, dariabandha and ha-du-du etc. Travelling is a good leisure. It refreshes our mind and broadens our outlook. Nevertheless, it is true that travelling is an expensive pastime. As I am a student, I do not get much time for leisure. I spend my leisure by playing cricket and reading novels on holiday, watching television and visiting many nice places. However, leisure should be significant for everyone.

Deforestation

Deforestation means cutting down trees in large scale. Today it has become a global problem. This problem is increasing day by day. There are many causes of deforestation.

Deforestation

Deforestation means cutting down trees in large scale. Today it has become a global problem. This problem is increasing day by day. There are many causes of deforestation. Population explosion is the main cause of deforestation. People use wood in different purposes. They make their house in forestland cutting down trees. As a result, trees are being cutting down rapidly. There are many bad effects of deforestation on men and animals. Deforestation causes global warming. It hampers ecological balance. It brings about various natural disasters. Deforestation also causes great harm to the animals. Most of the animals have lost their living place due to deforestation. It has many bad effects on climate. Today our climate has changed drastically. The sea level is rising at an alarming rate. Effective measures should be taken by the government to stop deforestation. People must be aware about the bad effects of cutting trees.

A Rainy Day

A rainy day is a day when it rains all day long. It may heavily or slowly. It seems dull and gloomy. They sky is covered with dark clouds. Clouds fly here and there in the sky. Most of the time, the sky is not seen clearly. People can not go out without umbrella. Water stands on the road. Village roads become muddy and slippery. Sometimes roads go under water. A book fair is an attractive fair where various types of books are displayed. Nowadays it has become very popular. Many book fairs are held in different places every year. The Ekushe Boi Mela is the main book fair in our country. It is held in Bangla Academy premises on the occasion of 21st February. Book fairs are now held in every city and town too. A book fair may last for a week or even a month. Hundreds of publishers participate in it. Different types of books are sold here. Books of drama, fiction, story, noble etc. are sold here. The stalls are decorated beautifully. A large number of children, male and female customers gather in a book fair. A book fair becomes crowded specially in the evening. One can buy one’s choice able books in cheaper rate from the book fair, However, a book fair is a source of knowledge and pleasure. It broadens our mind. A Street Hawker
A street hawker is a person who moves from place to place to sell his goods. Generally, he leads a very simple life. He carries his goods on head. Sometimes he carries his goods in hand too. Load Shedding

Load shedding means the discontinuity of supply of electricity for short or long time. Nowadays it has become a part of our daily life. There are many reasons for load shedding. The insufficient production of electricity is the main reason of it. Misuse and illegal connection of electricity are the other reasons of it. It occurs mostly at night because the demand of electricity is more than in the daytime. The bad effects of load shedding are beyond description. It creates problem in the socio-economic development of the country. Mills and factories, shops, hospitals etc. become paralyzed due to load shedding. The sufferings of the students know no bounds. They sit in the darkness closing their books during the load shedding. They suffer a lot of if it occurs in the time of their examination. The patients also suffer terribly because operation stops in hospitals for load shedding. Load shedding at night also encourages the thieves. However, this problem should be solved at any cost. The concerned authority must take necessary steps to stop it. More power stations should be established. Illegal connection and system loss should also be stopped. After all, there is no alternative to be conscious about the misuse of electricity.

Air Pollution

Air Pollution

  When air gets polluted with dust, smoke, motor vehicles, mills and factories etc. is called air pollution. Air is an important element of our environment. No creature can live without air. But air is getting polluted day by day. Air can be polluted in many ways. Smoke is most responsible for air pollution. Smoke is produced when we cook food, burn bricks and refuse. It also produces when we melt pitch for road construction. Besides, buses, trucks and cars use petrol, diesel and oil. When they are burnt, they emit smoke and pollute the air. Mills and factories also cause serious air pollution. Polluted air is very harmful to all beings. It is a dangerous threat to our existence. By inhaling polluted air, we suffer from various kinds of diseases. However, to control air pollution some measures should be taken by us and government. Public awareness should be raised. Mills and factories should not be allowed to set up in residential area. Petrol and diesel based vehicle should be banned.

Price hike means the exorbitant increase of the price of almost all the essential daily commodities. There are many reasons of it. Short supply of daily commodities and inflation are mainly responsible for price hike. Sometimes dishonest businesspersons and hoarders artificially raise price for making more profit.

The price hike may also causes due to flood and fault of rail and road communications. Besides, the holy month of Ramadan also contribute a lot to it because people buy some commodities more than in other months. Vegetables, brinjal, green chili, sugar and oil become most expensive than. There are some bad impacts of it in our society. Price hike decreases our living standard and increases corruption in our society. Price hike increases the sufferings of the common people. The poor and the middle class people of our society are affected by it. Nevertheless, the worst sufferers of it are those who live from hand to month. Government should take immediate actions to control it. The law enforcing agencies should be deployed in the market place to monitor the market price. Legal actions must be taken against the dishonest businesspersons and hoarders.
